Dear Schools,
Welcome back after the summer break.
Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership, Sligo Athletics Association, Youth Sport West and SuperValu would like to announce that the 2024 ‘SuperValu Athletics Fest for Primary Schools’ will be taking place on Thursday the 26th of September at Atlantic Technological University Knocknarea Arena Athletics Track.
Event information has being sent to all Sligo School by email and post. If you have not received this by 4th August please contact Kate Garvin at kate@sligosportandrecreation.ie or call 0719161511 to get this information. Online registration will take place on Thursday 5th August at 12noon.
Early booking is advisable as numbers are strictly limited, once maximum numbers are reached for each event we will be closing that event, information will be posted on our website and Facebook page in relation to this. School registration will open online on Thursday 5th September at 12 midday at the link you received in your email and in the postal information. The event link will be through Eventbrite. Further team/athlete information will be requested by SSRP following completion of the schools registration, please know the number of teams you are entering.
The SSRP SuperValu Athletics Fest has become an oversubscribed event. We understand there may be disappointment when schools do not secure a place, but please understand that our event capacity limits the number of spaces we can offer. Schools that miss out on registration are encouraged to join the event waitlist. If spaces become available, those on the waitlist will be contacted. Additionally, if your school remains on the waitlist and misses out on the 2024 event, you will be given priority registration for the 2025 event.
The Athletics Festival hosts over 1,200 children therefore to make the running of the event go as smoothly as possible we would ask schools to make sure the teachers who are attending the event with the children have read the accompanying event brochure that outlines important information for the day.
Best of luck.
